Role Overview:

Alameda Health System is hiring! The Project Manager III is a senior-level role responsible for leading complex, large-scale projects from initiation through completion. This position involves overseeing cross-functional teams to deliver initiatives that enhance clinical operations, improve patient care systems, implement new technologies, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and CMS guidelines. The role requires managing budgets, timelines, and risks while driving organizational change in a dynamic environment. Projects may include electronic health record (EHR) implementations, facility expansions, process improvements, or data analytics enhancements, clinical or operational improvement initiatives.

  • Lead and manage multiple concurrent projects of medium to large complexity, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure phases, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations.
  • Assemble and direct project teams, assign tasks, provide guidance, and foster collaboration among internal staff, external vendors, and cross-functional departments such as clinical, IT, and finance.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations; monitor progress, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Conduct risk assessments, mitigate potential issues, and ensure projects adhere to healthcare-specific standards, including patient safety, data security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Facilitate high-level meetings with stakeholders, including executives, clinicians, and vendors, to communicate project status, gather requirements, and resolve conflicts.
  • Oversee contractor and vendor management, including contract negotiations, performance evaluations, cost estimating, and invoice approvals for healthcare-related initiatives like facility construction or system upgrades.
  • Drive data management and process improvement efforts, such as coordinating the design and development of systems to enhance operational efficiency in areas like clinical workflows or business intelligence.
  • Promote change management strategies to support project adoption, including training, communication plans, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Stay informed on emerging healthcare trends, technologies, and best practices to inform project strategies and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Required Licenses/Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent required; additional certifications like CSM (Certified Scrum Master) or healthcare-specific credentials (e.g., CPHIMS) are advantageous.
  • Minimum Experience: Minimum of 10 years of project management experience, with at least 4-5 years in the healthcare sector managing complex projects. Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time, within budget, and to scope in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum Experience: Experience with healthcare systems and regulations, including EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner), clinical operations, and compliance standards.
